Certificates on their way (MAYBE?) & picture day!!!

First, word on the street is that the CA has begun issuing the Certificates of Registration today! Hopefully ours will be received sometime next week. The CA is working on a limited staff and hardly any budget (some guy had to run out yesterday to buy ink for their printers because they didn't have any!) so the certificates may not come out as quickly as we would like, but at least they have started. So here's hoping next week brings us all good news.

EDITED TO ADD: WE'RE GETTING CONFLICTING INFO RE: THE CA ISSUING CERTIFICATES TODAY (WHAT ELSE IS NEW?!) THIS IS THE LATEST WORD...

Today he learned that the CA had a meeting with the authorities of the CA to reach an agreement about how to handle the cases started in 2007.

The CA has/does have the intentions of issuing previos for paperwork that is not completed correctly. The powers to be instructed them to begin giving the registration notifications beginning Monday morning. They will be issued in the following manner.

If your file submittal date was Jan. 21, then Monday, Jan. 22, then Tuesday and so on.

Important Information on Registration of In-process cases in Guatemala

Ethica has confirmed information that there are two Central Authority offices operating, and it is unclear which one will be determined to be the official Central Authority. Therefore, at this time it is recommended that families register their in-process cases with both offices to ensure that their cases are timely registered with whichever office becomes the official Central Authority.

I swear, you could not MAKE this stuff up...it gets crazier by the minute.
