Now we wait...

So JCICS finally posted today and here is what they wrote...

Joint Council continues to dialogue directly with President Berger’s office. Due to this ongoing conversation, we will post an update on Guatemala 5000 on October 15 rather than today as was previously indicated to the Membership.

So now we wait until Monday for news. Obviously they are not sure where Berger stands on the grandfather clause. For some reason they said yesterday that he was for it...now they don't know...or he changed his mind and they are still trying to convince him. Who knows...hopefully the weekend will go by quickly.

And my agency now says this..." Most of you probably read the email sent yesterday about President Berger. While we are thrilled with President Berger's support, his comments have not been as detailed as we hoped. However, we are still confident that the amendment will pass to allow in-process adoptions to continue."
